Re-Accreditation
The Catholic High School of Baltimore is pleased to announce that it is beginning a year-long period of self-study and planning that will lead to re-accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The process that we will use is a protocol entitled, Validating the Vision, which has been established by the National Catholic Educational Association and approved by Middle States.

Our current Middle States certificate reads, in part:

"The Catholic High School of Baltimore has demonstrated to evaluators that it is effectively advancing the quality of the educational experiences it offers its students and complies with the standards established by the Commission on Secondary Schools and approved by the members of the Assocation."

Obviously, this accreditation is valuable to Catholic High, not only as an affirmation of the excellent education we offer our students, but also because it provides assurance to our entire school community that our programs serve the goals and intentions of the educational mission we proclaim.

During this next year, you will hear more about this process, and we will invite many of you to take an active role in it. In the meantime, we trust that you will join your hopes and prayers to ours that this will be a worthwhile and productive time of preparation for our school.

Accreditation
The Catholic High School of Baltimore is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Schools seek accreditation from appropriate professional organizations as a "stamp of approval" for their scholastic program. Accreditation provides reassurance to parents, students, and the wider community that their school is following sound educational practices in the implementation of its educational mission.

The Middle States Visitation Committee summarized their evaluation of Catholic High by saying:

“The members of the Validation Team congratulate The Catholic High School of Baltimore for its enthusiastic and articulate students who value the loving, caring, and supportive environment that results from a fine educational program provided by a faculty, staff, and administration united in dedication to the traditions of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi.”

Belief Statements
We, at The Catholic High School of Baltimore, value:

Our Catholic Heritage - which is expressed in an environment of faith and in joyful lives devoted to the Gospel. We take Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi as our exemplars, seeing in their respect for life and their love of Jesus a way to be light for the world and salt for the earth.

God’s Creation - which requires a spirit of acceptance and love toward the people we are called to be with and to serve and an acknowledgement of our role as stewards of the earth in all our activities.

Justice - which calls forth a response from us as Christian people to be good citizens, to address social ills, to serve our community, and to act as peacemakers.

The Giftedness of All - which includes believing that all are endowed by God with a wealth of talents. We accept the responsibility to encourage the growth and expansion of these talents within our community of learners.

Education - which is aimed at developing the whole person. We are committed to providing a holistic program that promotes the mind, body, soul and spirit of every young woman we serve.
