About > Some Thoughts from the Principal

Thank you for visiting the web site of The Catholic High School of Baltimore, truly a school on the move. When our alumnae visit the school after a long absence, they always say the same thing, " I am amazed at how much the school has changed." A little bit later, in the same conversation, they say, "I am amazed at how much the school has stayed the same."

On this latter sentiment, alumnae always talk about the unchanged mission of the school, the continued strong presence of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, and, of course, the seventy-year history of this school as a beacon of hope in East Baltimore.

Remarking on the changes in the school, all visitors mention the many capital improvements in recent years: a new roof, boilers, fence, refurbished auditorium and gymnasium, new desks and chairs, flagpole, and two new school activity buses. All of these improvements are made possible by the generosity of our alumnae, parents, and staff contributors.

Principal

Why are our benefactors so generous to Catholic High? Because they know that we continue to provide an excellent education, competitive sports programs, and a devotion to the lives of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. And our students respond in such a positive way, sharing their time, talent, and treasure through community service, tutoring, and so much more. And because of this service, Catholic High was recently named as a School of the Year by the Maryland Center for Character Education.

Every principal has good things to say about his or her school, but please don't just take my word for it. Come see for yourself this wonderful school on the move. I would be happy to give you a personal tour.
