The physical fitness of students is enhanced by a well-rounded physical education program that provides a variety of experiences to develop cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, flexibility, agility, strength, balance, coordination and good posture. This course is taken concurrently with Health (732).

The focus of this course is health and wellness. The program provides educational experiences which will promote health-enhancing behaviors in the students’ personal lifestyles. Topics will include: nutrition, eating disorders, personal care, drug abuse, sexuality, the reproductive system, diseases and disorders, environmental and consumer health. This course is taken concurrently with Physical Education (712).

Advanced Health is a continuation of Health I. The program provides educational experiences which promote health and enhance behaviors in the students' personal lifestyles. Topics include: preventing violence and abuse, alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs, adolescence and adulthood, weight management adn eating behaviors, risks of adolescent sexual activity and marriage, and parenthood and families.

This course is a continuation of physical education at an advanced level of participation in individual and team sports. The topics of wellness and life-long fitness will be integrated in the course. The instructor will select eligible students.
