The Catholic High School of Baltimore is an independent college-preparatory high school for young women, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Since 1939 young women have benefited from the education they received at Catholic High.

How to Apply

We are excited that you are considering The Catholic High School of Baltimore!  Please read through and follow these steps to complete your admissions application. 

  1. Attend a Shadow Day – All applicants are required to attend a Shadow Day as part of the admissions process. Shadow Days are available for 8th grade and transfer students from September through early December. Registration for the 2026 Shadow Day will be open soon!
                                            
  2. Attend Open House – Join us on  Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tour our campus, meet faculty & staff, students, parents, alumnae, and learn more about the Catholic High experience. 

  3. Submit Your Online Application  – Applications should be submitted by December 11, 2026. A $50 non-refundable application fee is required.

  4. Complete required Forms
  5. Apply for Tuition Assistance (Optional) - Need-based tuition assistance is available through FACTS and must be renewed annually. Applications open in early November at www.factstuitionaid.com.

  6. Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) – This HSPT is a required part of the high school admissions process.
    • Public School Students: Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Catholic High
    • Archdiocese of Baltimore School Students: Administered at their current school on Wednesday, November 17, 2026.
      Registration for the  2026 High School Placement Test will open in the fall.                                                                                                                                                                                         
  1. Apply for Scholarships – The Catholic High School of Baltimore offers academic and Visual & Performing Arts Scholarships to qualified incoming freshmen. VPA Scholarship auditions are held in January each year. 

  2. Receive Your Decision 
    Admissions decisions for the Class of 2031 will be:
    Mailed: February 17, 2027 
    Emailed: February 18, 2027
    All applicants will receive a letter of decision.

Catholic High Tuition

Class of 2030 - $18,400
Class of 2029 - $17,800
Class of 2028 - $17,000
Class of 2027 - $16,400

Additional Fees & Grants

Fees for the 2026-2027 School Year: $1,200
Please reference the current school year's Student/Parent Device Agreement for additional costs associated with school-issued device accidental damages.

Re-Registration Fee: $200

Athletic Fee: $100/sport, up to $200/year

Senior Fee: $350
Includes retreat, transportation, Baccalaureate, and graduation expenses.

Payment Plans

Payment-in-Full Discount
Payments-in-full received by June 1 will receive a 3% discount. Credit card payers or recipients of any other discounts, aid, grants, or scholarships will not be eligible for this discount.

Tuition Refund Plan
Tuition Refund Plan available at 1.6% of tuition and all fees. Mandatory semi-annual and monthly payment plans. Optional, but encouraged for families who make full payments.

Tuition Assistance Application (Optional)
Catholic High offers tuition assistance, which is need-based and must be applied for each year through FACTS. Families may apply beginning in early November by visiting www.factstuitionaid.com.

Scholarships

Academic Scholarships

The Catholic High School of Baltimore awards Academic Scholarships to qualified students entering the ninth grade who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Scholarships renew each year as long as the recipient maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Visual & Performing Arts Scholarships

Catholic High offers scholarships for Fine Arts (Visual Art, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Theater, and Dance). Students interested in receiving a Fine Arts Scholarship must apply for the McCafferty Visual and Performing Arts Program. Each applicant completes an audition in their concentration to be considered for a scholarship.

Duns Scotus Forensics Team Scholarship 

Students applying to Catholic High may Interview for a Duns Scotus Forensics Team Scholarship. The Forensics Team competes in the Baltimore Catholic Forensics League (Speech and Debate) each season. Scholarship recipients are awarded a scholarship, renewable each year. Continued eligibility for the scholarship requires active participation on the Duns Scotus Forensics Team throughout the recipient's enrollment at Catholic High.

External Scholarships

Students looking for external scholarships may apply to the following organizations. These organizations have their own due dates and requirements for application. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact them individually. You may find their contact information at the links below. Catholic High accepts all external scholarship money. 

The Knott Scholarship Funds have been providing merit based, full-tuition scholarships for academically talented Catholic elementary and secondary school students for 41 years. Awarded in the 4th grade for grades 5 through 8, or 8th grade for grades 9 through 12, scholarships are awarded to Catholic students in the Archdiocese of Baltimore who wish to attend a Catholic school. Applications are available beginning in January and are due in March for awards for the following year.  For more information, please visit www.knottscholar.org.
