The Catholic High School of Baltimore empowers young women for college and beyond with knowledge, spirit and confidence. I invite you to browse through our web site to learn about our school and our students, but I encourage you to contact the Office of Admissions to schedule a visit to see Catholic High for yourself.
Catholic High, conveniently located off of I-95 and I-895 in northeast Baltimore City, was founded in 1939 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, with the mission that through education the empowerment of young women can effect the transformation of our society. Each member of the Catholic High community strives to fulfill this mission daily, helping prepare our students for success after graduation.
Students of all abilities are challenged within one of our four academic programs: McCafferty Honors Program, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Program, College Preparatory Program and Archangel Program. Small class sizes allow teachers to provide personal attention. The average class size is 16, and the student to teacher ratio is 12:1. I encourage you to explore the curriculum on our Academics pages. Catholic High also offers courses that can earn students college credits without leaving the building, including Advanced Placement courses, on-line courses and Neumann College courses offered in our state-of-the-art Distance Learning Lab. We are the only high school with a Distance Learning Lab and Engineering Classroom in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and our teachers use this lab along with the recently updated Foreign Language Lab and computer lab to enhance their lessons throughout the school year. There is no doubt that Catholic High graduates have the knowledge and the skills to succeed in higher education and beyond.
The spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi is incorporated into the daily lives of Catholic High students. Prayer experiences, Liturgies and retreats help students enrich their faith journey and acknowledge God's love for them. In addition, students are challenged to look outside themselves and reach out to the community. Students make an annual community service commitment, which is required for graduation. Learn more about the community service commitment on our service page .
After-school activities strengthen students' leadership skills and improve their time management, making them more confident and capable women. These activities along with school traditions build character and educate the whole person. Visit our athletics page to learn more about our sports teams. View our clubs and organizations on our clubs page.
