Scholarships
The Catholic High School of Baltimore offers a wide array of merit-based scholarships to qualified students entering the ninth grade.
Students need only apply for the Fine Arts Scholarship, if they are so inclined: Art, Band, Chorus, and/or Forensics (Speech). Students may apply for more than one Fine Arts Scholarship, and need to submit all Fine Arts applications no later December 23. Students will be notified in January when your interview/ audution will occur.
All other scholarships will be awarded based on grades and test scores- no applications or letters of recommendation are required.
Students will be notified of awards on February 15, 2012.
Scholarships
Mother Generosa Scholarship (Full tuition per year): Recognizes a student of all-around exceptional ability, achievement and promise. This student scores in the 99th percentile in testing, is involved in extra-curricular activities, performs community service, and earns a 3.9 GPA or higher.
President’s Scholarship:
Recognizes exceptional leadership in school and the community.
Math Olympiad Award:
Recognizes the eighth grade student who places at the top of the Math Olympiad Competition, held in October each year.
St. John Neumann Scholarship:
Named in memory of Bishop Neumann, who founded the first catholic diocesan school system in the United States; recognizes a student who resembles an “unsung hero,” displaying leadership by action, good deeds and service to others.
Mother Mary Francis Bachmann Scholarship:
Honors the foundress of the Sisters of St. Francis. The sisters themselves had few resources apart from their courageous spirit and their trust in God's providence. These proved sufficient because many people of Philadelphia supported their ministry in a variety of ways. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has displayed personal and academic growth, leadership, and a Christian attitude.
Mission Scholarship: This award goes to well-rounded students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
Alumnae Scholarship: Gives preference to a daughter or granddaughter of a Catholic High alumna; recognizes significant academic achievement.
