Guidance Office
Members of the Guidance Office work with students to help them through their journey at Catholic High, including academic advising and general counseling. Counselors assist students during the college application process, and this year counselors will use PrepHQ.com to help track students' college information and test scores. The site is free for users, but students must register to use the site.
College Acceptances
Appropriately planning the college application process in cooperation with guidance counselors pays off for Catholic High students. The Class of 2008 earned more than $2.4 million in scholarships and grants. They gained acceptance into the following colleges and universities:
American University, DC |
Morgan State University, MD |
Homework Club
To help students manage their time and improve their skills, the Guidance Office sponsors a Homework Club after school, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. in room 203. There are no agendas, no membership requirements and no dues for this club. It’s simply a place for students to come when they need help with their assigments. Students have a quiet, supervised place for study. Teachers offer guidance for those who need help with their organizational or study skills and give suggestions to help students get started with a difficult assignment or project. Tutoring is also available.
All students are welcome and can simply stop in room 203 on Tuesday or Thursday. Students are encouraged to speak with their Guidance Counselor if they have questions or concerns about their academic progress.
