Alumnae Spotlight

May 2020 - Jamila Blake '99

This month's spotlight shines on Jamila Blake of the Class of 1999. Born in Cameroon and raised in Baltimore, after graduating from Catholic High, Jamila attended Simmons College in Boston where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Human Services. She then achieved a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Jamila balances being a mother of two children with a 15 year career in the social and human services industry and 10 year career in the healthcare industry. She was recently featured in an article in The Baltimore Times for her work at The Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition (MCRC), where she provides "financial counseling and coaching to help improve the economic well-being of older adults, including finding solutions to fill the gaps in the services offered to them."

Jamila shared with us, "I want to thank TCHS for the wonderful foundation that was provided to me. This foundation has truly helped me throughout my career."

Thank you, Jamila, for letting your light shine! Click here to read The Baltimore Times article.
